A memory-first approach to Leaving Cert study

RetainLearning is being built to support students across the full Leaving Cert cycle. Whether students start early or join later, the focus is simple, strong understanding, long-term retention, and exam-ready recall.

The principle

Students do not usually struggle because they are not capable. They struggle because they are using study methods that feel productive but do not reliably build memory. RetainLearning is designed to change that.

Why RetainLearning exists

Many students work hard but still feel uncertain in exams. A common reason is that revision is often based on re-reading, highlighting, and last-minute cramming. Those methods can feel reassuring, but they are not consistently effective for building durable recall.

RetainLearning is built around evidence-based learning and memory principles, so students practise the right things at the right time and learn how to study in a way that creates real retention.

Self-sufficiency is the goal

RetainLearning is designed to help students become independent learners. The aim is not to create reliance on constant support, but to teach students how to plan, practise, and revise effectively, so they can perform confidently in exams. While designed specifically for Leaving Cert study, the planning and recall habits developed through RetainLearning also support students as they move on to further study, where independent preparation and reliable recall become increasingly important.

Where we are now

The full platform is currently in development. In the meantime, one-to-one grinds are offered for a limited number of students using the same strategy-led approach. Updates and early access will be offered to those who register for launch updates.
